J&K creats jobs for 7,337 people

Jammu and Kashmir government has set up about 8,000 small scale units in the northern districts of the state at a cost of around Rs 100 crore, creating jobs for 7,337 people.
The units have been set up in Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara districts, under various employment schemes, including the Rural Employment Generation Programme.
Kupwara Deputy Commissioner Kachoo Isfandyar Khan said about 7,123 income generating units have been established in the district at a cost of Rs 86.07 crore.
Elaborating further, he said 4,479 units were set up under services sector at a cost of Rs 48.38 crore. Similarly, under agriculture sector, 1,234 units were set up with an assistance of Rs 15.55 crore, which include 586 units under kissan credit card scheme.
Under industries sector, 1,410 units have been established with a loan facility of Rs 21.17 crore, Khan said.
