| Clerical staff strike paralyze working in government departments | | ‘Now and never battle to continue’; Ram Kumar; meeting with Divcom inconclusive | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 28 The pen down strike by the clerical staff has adversely paralyzed the working in the government departments across Jammu and Kashmir for which the call was given by the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association. The Association has clarified that following inconclusive meeting with the Divisional Commissioner here, the on going strike shall remain continue. The employees across the state held massive rallies and demonstrations at the respective district headquarters in protest against the double standard pick and choose policy of the coalition government and creating huge anomalies among the clerical cadre by not removing their pay anomalies. The Coordinator of the Association Ram Kumar Sharma, who was ailing and discharged from GMC Hospital today, while addressing the activists and the central executive members said that ‘now and never battle’ will continue till the demands of the clerical cadre are accepted by the government. Several other association leaders addressing the protesting employees reiterated their demand for removal of pay anomalies. Later, on the invitation of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, several members of the association led by Ram Kumar Sharma met him and discussed the demands. The meeting however, remained inclusive and in the meantime it was decided by the association that the on going struggle would continue till settlement of their demands. Among others who met the Divisional Commissioner were Rehmat Ullah Malik, Ravi Singh Bhau, Bashir Malik, Anil Mehta, Ravi Razdan, Roshan Lal, K A Diwani, Ravi Kumar, Sukhbir Singh and R P Sharma. |
