| All India Confederation of SC/ST for early issuance of Ordinance | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 28 Complimenting the Chief Minister and the state government for recommending issuance of an ordinance envisaging restoration of 8 per cent reservation to SCs besides enhancing the quota from 5 per cent to 10 per cent for STs, issuance of caste based certificates to OBCs, All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organization has urged the government to send the proposed Ordinance to the Governor for his approval. The Confederation has also impressed upon the government to enhance the quota of reservation for OBCs besides clearing the backlog vacancies. The Confederation has decided to deliberate the issuance of the Ordinance in a big way at all the district and tehsil headquarters and called upon the cadre to be in a state of readiness for this historic occasion. Those who attended the meeting included Mohammed Abdullah Choudhary, Harbans Lal, Chaman Lal Kandley, Rohit Verma, Hanief Chouhan, Ramesh Sarmal, Rashid Chouhan, Jodh Raj, Abdul Qadoos, Amar Nath Bhagat, Abdul Najar, R L Kaith, Rajesh Thappa and Roshan Din Choudhry. In the meantime the Batwal community of Jammu Urban has also hailed the state cabinet decision to modify SRO 294 .It has also hailed the central government decision for reserving seats for the community un undergraduate medical and dental courses across the country from this year. |
