| Mushaira at MAM College | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 29 Govt. M.A.M. College under the auspices of Gandhian Studies centre today organized a Mushaira on the occasion of the centenary year of the writing of Mahatma Gandhi’s Mnegnumopus “Hindi Swaraj”. Topic of the today’s mushaira was “Peace, Communal Harmony and Human Rights”. Multilingual poets from the state were invited to participate in order to create an environment of cultural ethos. Minster for Higher Education, Gulchain Singh Charak was the chief guest on the occasion. While director colleges, Prof. ND Wani was the guest of honor on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the College, Prof. Muqbil Chisti expressed her gratitude to the Chief guest who being an alumnus of the college had spared his precious time to be with them and appreciated the participation of guests, poets in the event. to further the noble cause of “Peace, communal Harmony and Protection of Human Rights”. She in her lecture emphasized on the fact that young mind can be channelized in the right direction by inculcating in them the right values by organizing such events which are practically helpful in giving positive vision to the students. Charak in his address appreciated the role of the college authorities in making the best possible efforts to raise the standard of education. Earlier poets like Prof. Rita Jatinder, Vidya Ratan Aasi, Balraj Bakshi, Sunil Shad, RS Masthana, Vidya Thakua, Nargis Sitara and many other enthralled the audience with their power to convey message through verse. Dr. MA Wani played the role of an anchor in his masterly style. The prgramme was compeered by Pooja Gupta while the vote of thanks was presented by Shakun Sethi. |
