| State Congress hails union budget | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 29 Jammu and Pradesh Congress committee has hailed the union budget presented by the union finance minister, P. Chidambaram today and described it Aam Adami Budget. Welcoming the budgetary proposal presented by Chidamram, the PCC has described as one of the best budget during the last six decades. The budget has taken care of all sections of society especially the poor, the farmers and the middle income group. The agricultural loan waiver scheme is going to benefit Rs. 4 crore farmers in the country out of which Rs. 3 crores are small and marginal farmers. This is a bold decision were by about Rs. 60 thousand crores loans which constitute 4% of a total banking loans has to waived off, the party spokesman said. He said raising of income tax slabs exempting income upto Rs. 1.50 lacs and Rs. 1.80 lacks for women and Rs. 2.25 lacks of senior citizens has come as a major relief to the adaried class and middle group.
