| NSUI hails CM’s decision | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 1 State general secretary of National Students Union of India (NSUI), Shah Nawaz Chaudahary hailed the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for conceding various demands including starting of classes in Poonch University Campus, media study centre in Jammu University and approval of Gojri and Pahari Research Centres, approving 5 crore rupees for Poonch Campus, and 32 canal land in the heart of Jammu city at most appropriate location for expansion of Jammu University. Addressing the media persons here today, Choudhary said that Poonch campus is the states manly gift to the people of that hilly region because it primarily provide opportunity of gaining higher education. He said that the establishment of Gojri and Pahari Research centres will open a new chapter and horizon of the Literature of the different languages by inter translation of literature and will preserve the culture and scripts of the region. Choudhary further demanded that the Permanent Teachers and staff should be appointed for extension campuses as temporary staff couldn’t take the carrier of the students seriously as they leave the institution at any time and 50% seats for various courses in extension campuses should be reserved for the students from hilly areas in MBA, MCA and other professional training courses including career counseling camp. He appealed the Chief Minister for early release of funds before the election, so that infrastructure and Building can be constructed immediately, hostel in Jammu for the students of Poonch and Rajouri and Degree College for Surankote for the upliftment of the education status of the people of Surankote valley which are still backward in this era of 21st Century. |
