Minister for Health and Medical Education Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma today felicitated. Ayodhya Rani Gamkhar a well known Dogri wrtier.
He was addressing a function organized by Art Foundation Jammu and Cultural Academy to felicitate Gamkhar. He conferred 'Sahitya Shree' title upon Mrs. Ayodhya Rani and presented a shawl and trophy to her.
Sharma said "art and culture are rich aspects of heritage and writers play an important role in socio-educational progress. He congratulated NDS-TAF for organizing the programme and lauded the literally works of Mrs. Ayodhya Rani Gamkhar.
Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Dr. Rafiq Masoodi, Short Story Writer S. S. Anand Lehar, Prof. Vijay Laxmi, Punjabi and Dogri writer Mr. K. K. Shakir, Senior Advocate Supreme Court and President NDA-TAF Dogra Harish Kaila and a large number of literary persons were present on the occasion.
Dr. Masoodi, S. S. Anand Lehar, K. K. Shakir, Yash Paul Yash and Bishen Singh Dardi renowned writers threw light on the life and achievements of Gamkhar and lauded her role in promoting Dogri culture and literature.
On the occasion, the students of Bharti Sangeet Peeth Jammu presented musical compositions based on the poetry of Mrs. Ayodhya Rani Gamkhar. |
