| JKAACL organizes exhibition | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 1 As a part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations, J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages ( today organized an exhibition of Paintings of Akram Khan a young budding artist of the state. Exhibition was inaugurated by Minister for Roads and Buildings Jugal Kishore Sharma while Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan and MLC Mr. M. Y. Taing presided over. Jugal Kishore Sharma while speaking on the occasion appreciated the work of Mr. Akram Khan and said that collection depicts not only imagination of the artist but also the real incidents through which state has passed. He also appreciated the role of Secretary JKAAL for providing platform to the artists of the state to promote and groom their talent. Aijaz Ahmad Khan said that Akram Khan portrays the feelings and pain of marginalized sections of the society. Taing also appreciated the paintings of Mr. Akram and said that Academy has been providing a key role in providing a stage to the artists of the state to portray and exhibit their hidden talent. Secretary JKAACL in his welcome address said that on the eve of golden jubilee celebrations exhibition of paintings and sculpture have been started and more exhibitions will also be organized. Akram Khan born in 1961 at Reasi has been awarded and honoured with Camlin Award J&K State Art Exhibition 2006-07, state Camlin Award 41st State Art Exhibition 2004-05, honoured and awarded Innovative and Creative People meet Udhampur 2003, Best Painting Award 1st international plus art prize Germany, etc. |
