| VC honors Heritage school with trophy of Academic Excellence | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | March 1 Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo gave away the trophy of Academic Excellence to the Heritage school today at the function organized in the school premises. Uniquely this is the second Trophy of Academic Excellence as the school has been already honored with the Governor’s Trophy in the year 2006-2007. Amitabh Mattoo while addressing the students stressed that this award would certainly be a mile stone in reflecting the progressive drive of institutional success and further enhance the confidence of teachers and the taught while providing a new bench mark for the future World Leaders. While giving away the Trophy he emphasized that Heritage School is definitely the best emerging school in the entire Northern Region and he reiterated that his patronage and association with the Heritage School would be further strengthened with the Trophy being awarded to this prestigious institution. He applauded the students for their innovative creativity in the Science and Art Exhibition, and also cherished the musical number on brotherhood sung by the Tiny Tots of UKG. The four houses of the school also voiced their opinions silently on burning issues like Globalization, Women Emancipation, and Technology in Education and Global Warming in the form of banners. The programme was attended by reputed dignitaries which included Prof. Veena Gupta, Principal GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Prof. J P Singh, Retd. Chairman ,J&K Board of Education, Dr. Hemla Aggarwal, HOD PG Studies, Food Science and Technology , GCW , Jammu and other faculty members of the University. Mr. B N Sarkar, Principal, Heritage School felicitated the Vice Chancellor and the programme finally ended with the vote of thanks given by one of the student representatives of Heritage School. This was a red letter day for all the Heritageans and gave them the much needed boost to continue striving towards Excellence. |
