| Coalition ignored the border areas: NC | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 2 Mohan Lal, National Conference leader conducted week long extensive tour of Border villages - Jagwan, Manna, Klah and Phalaynwalla of Chamb assembly constituency where he interacted with the inhabitants of the villages and listened to their grievances. The inhabitants informed National Conference leader about various problems being faced by them, due to which they are suffering badly. They said there is acute shortage of drinking water, electricity and ration. The inhabitants alleged that the government is least bothered about the miseries of the people of these border villages despite repeated requests nobody from the government side ever bothered to pay any heed to their repeated requests. "We were not provided with ration and other essential commodities and with our meager source of income we are not in a position to purchase ration and other essential commodities from the open market on exorbitant rates, they said. Addressing the inhabitants at these villages, National Conference leader expressed his concern over the apathetic attitude adopted by the present coalition regime with the people of this border belt. He the people of the border belt on the one side use to face wrath from across the border and on the other hand the callous attitude of the present dispensation has added salt to their injury. The present coalition government has a failed to perform its obligatory duty. He said a sense of neglect has housed the hearts and minds of the people of the border villages of Chamb. He impressed upon the present coalition government to stop making hollow promises and cheap sloganeering and provide all basic amenities to the people of the border areas. He said National Conference under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah is committed to work for the welfare of the people of the state and shall always fight for their cause.
