Awareness camp organized

R.S. Pura, Aug 8: Social Welfare Department (J&K) District Child Protection unit Jammu has organized an awareness camp at Panchyat Magowali R S Pura under the chairmanship District child protection officer Arti Choudhary and aware about Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS).
Former Sarpanch Rashpal Singh Gill was chief guest and BJP leader Jasbir Singh (Lucky) was guest of honor on the occasion.
A large number of Panchyat people and their children attended the camp. District child protection officer Arti Choudhary while speaking on the occasion explained the gathering about the revised schemes and other welfare measures being extended by the Central and the State governments for them. She said tha the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) is a centrally sponsored scheme launched by the Government of India's Ministry of Women and Child Development aimed at "building a protective environment for children. "The scheme is implemented by Social Welfare Department through J&K State Child Protection Society. ICPS is run through District Child Protection Units (DCPUs) at the District level with support from statutory bodies CWCs and JJBs," he added.
She further said that the roles of District Child Protection Unit is to identify orphan, abandoned and surrendered children in the district and get them declared legally free for adoption by Child Welfare Committee with the help of Specialised Adoption Agency or Child Care Institution, wherever required ensure that the Child Study Report and Medical Examination Report are uploaded in the Child Adoption Resource Information and Guidance System by the Specialised Adoption Agency within ten days from the date a child is declared legally free for adoption.
Rajinder Bhardwaj, Social worker Meenakshi, Sakshi Gupta. Deepti Gupta, Numberdar Dilbag Singh, Bachno Devi and Rahul Choudhary were also present on the occasion.
