| Mind your language: Baig to NC leadership | | | Early Times Reporter Baramulla | Mar 2
Deputy Chief Minister and senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Muzaffar Hussain Beigh on Sunday lashed out the leadership of opposition party National Conference (NC) alleging that NC has been resorting to abusive statements against PDP and they (NC leaders) should mind their language. Addressing his first public rally after being inducted as Deputy Chief Minster, at Delina in Baramulla, Beigh said that NC has always mislead people of Kashmir since its inception by false propaganda. Reacting to the recent statement of National Conference chief that Mufti Muhammad Sayeed is responsible for destruction in Kashmir, Baig asked NC leadership to refrain from abusive statements. "They (NC leaders) should mind its language," thundered Beigh, amidst high pitched pro-PDP slogans. The deputy CM further alleged that it was NC that entered into accords and broke it for petty political gains. "It was NC which forced Salahuddin and Yasin Malik to pick up gun, formed STF, formed and broke the plebiscite for power and cheated Geelani Sahib and Abdul Gani Lone Shab in elections" "They have done historical blunders due to which people of Kashmir are suffering till now. The people of Jammu and Kashmir will never forgive them for their misdeeds," he added.. Talking to media-persons on sidelines of the rally, Baig said that alliance between PDP and Congress in forthcoming assembly elections is due but it is yet to be decided that would it be pre-poll or post poll alliance. "Congress High Command has been in favour of coalition between PDP and Congress and certainly it will be either pre-poll or post poll alliance," informed Beigh. While welcoming the statement of PPP's Asif Ali Zardari, Baig said that the political instability in Pakistan was one of the biggest hurdles in the resolution of Kashmir dispute. "Would there have been stable Pakistan, Kashmir issue would have been resolved till now". Replying to a query about the dissident party leader Ghulam Hassan Mir, Baig said, "Mir is my friend and loyal member of party but if he wants to quit no body can stop him". Appealing people to make right decisions in forthcoming elections, he asked people to compare the development of last 50 years with that of 5 years of the coalition government.
