| Meet the Personality series held at JU | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | March 3 National HRD Network, Jammu Chapter today inaugurated “Meet the Personality Series' with the maiden session by Padma Shri Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu which was attended by eminent academicians, corporate professionals, industrialists, entrepreneurs, research scholars, students from the business schools of various Universities and eminent citizens of the civil society. In the function, Padma Shri Prof. Amitabh Mattco, also the patron and member of National HRD network, was felicitated. The National HRD Network is an association of professionals, committed to promote the HRD movement in the country. It is non profit organization dedicated to develop human resources through education, training, research, and experience sharing. The Jammu Chapter of National HRD Network was launched by the successful efforts of Prof. J R Dhotra and Prof Neelu Rohmetra in the year 2005 under the leadership of patron Prof. Amitabh Mattoo. Prof. J R Dhotra, President, National HRD Network (Jammu Chapter) In his welcome address congratulated for the efforts initiated by the National HRD team and remarked that a luminary like Prof. Mattoo is a source of light and inspiration for the society at large. Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Coordinator and Secretary, NHRD, Jammu Chapter in her address apprised about the various initiatives of the Network in Jammu. She said that human capital and creativity would ensure success and competitive edge for organizations in the competitive challenging environment and HRD network Is an Important link to connect human capital from various walks of life. She said Prof. Mattoo's charismatic leadership, visionary moves, and humanitarian touch that inspire the academic fraternity of the University. Reaffirming the views of Prof. Mattoo, she said that linkages are more Important than the links themselves. Prof. Mattoo in his address remarked that belief in self and initiative to stimulate change are the two qualities required in a leader. He appreciated the members of civil society, industry, and academia who have contributed to make a change in the system. He strongly stated that the politics of cynicism and status quo would not prevail because the University is striving for change and is on the path of growth, He appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dhotra and Prof. Neelu Rohmetra for making useful contribution in this direction. Later in his one to one interaction with the august gathering Prof. Mattoo mentioned that his success mantra Is to provide space to others. develop a culture of excellence, empower the human resources for creating synergy and solidarity, Prof. Keshav Sharma, Director, The Business School presented a formal vote of thanks. Anil Gupta, Joint Secretary, NHRD conducted the proceedings of the event. |
