| 7/11 accused flown to Mumbai | | | Srinagar, August 26: Mumbai police took into its custody the two valleyites alleged to be involved in Mumbai serial blasts that shook Mahrashtra capital on July 11 this year. Sources while disclosing this revealed that a special team of Mumbai police led by Inspector Khandyar took alongwith it two valleyites in connection with the ongoing investigation of Mumbai serial blasts. It has been learnt that troppers of 6 RR arrested Gh Mohd Mir S/O Ab Ghani Mir R/O Pehel Daji Handwara and Ab Ahad Khan S/O Ab Ghani R/O dardsan Kupwara few days back and a team of Mumbai Police visited Srinagar for interrogating them. The accused were produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Handwara on Friday last, when four days remand was granted to Mumbai police, but the accused were flown to Mumbai by the special police team on Saturday. Gh Mohd Mir alias Gula Dev S/O Ab Ghani, an ex-militant, was absconding for the last seven years and he according to sources had crossed to the side of LoC in the year 1990, but returned in the year 1993 and was known to be a commander of Albarq militant outfit thereafter. However he was arrested in 1995 and spent three long years in jail. After his release in the year 1998, he went absconding and according to police he fled to Assam where he was working as a labourer and got married there. It has been learnt the Mir returned to Handwara on July 26 this year but troopers of 6 RR arrested him and recovered a pistol, a magazine and a wireless set from his possession. A case under FIR No:63/2006 stands registered against him at P/S Vilgam. Following the Mumbai serial blasts, Mumbai police got some clues and State police was sounded a bout the matter. However State police started interrogating him much before, but while in army custody Mir named his one more accomplice Ab Ahad Khan S/O Ab Ghani R/O Dardsun Kupwara and he too was arrested by army. Following the interrogation of both by state police, Mambai police was informed the case following which a team of Mumbai police visited Srinagar. It has been learnt that Ab Ahad Khan had gone to Arunachal Pardesh in connection with his trading activities during which he met Gh Mohd Mir. Police record does not substantiate Ab Ahd Khan's any link with the militant ranks.
