JAMMU, Aug 18: Centre of Excellence for Kidney Transplant, SPS Hospitals Ludhiana, only hospital in South-East Asia to be accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI USA) within 2 years of its inception, announced the successful completion of 120 kidney transplants, with satisfying results which are at par with any other centre in the region with success rate of more than 95%. Kidney Transplant facility at SPS Hospitals Ludhiana, provides an opportunity to the people suffering from kidney failure to avail the international quality treatment with lower costs than any other corporate hospitals in the region. To further highlighted the facility the hospital held a press conference at the Press Club in Jammu today.
Present during occasions were, Dr Ajay Angirish, CEO-SPS Hospitals, Dr Vikas Kumar, Senior Consultant Urology & Transplant Surgeon and Dr. Rahul Kohli, Senior Consultant & Coordinator Nephrology & Transplant Medicine, from SPS Hospitals Ludhiana.
Dr Vikas said that kidney transplant has increased patient survival; The Kidney Transplant program at SPS Hospitals Ludhiana not only accepts patients from the state but also from the neighboring states of the country as well as international patients. We have facility for Open & Laparoscopic donor Nephrotomy which is less painful, enabled faster recovery and early return to work." We aim to educate people and break all myths in their minds about organ donation. Kidney donation is very safe and there is no harm in donating kidney to your kith and kin. Kidney transplant provides the best quality of life compared to dialysis. As compare to Dialysis the overall cost and survival of transplant is much better. Both the recipient and donor can lead a normal and healthy life post transplant.
