Vanshika, Garima, Uday win gold medals in Roller Speed Skating C'ship

JAMMU, Aug 20: Vanshika Bakshi, Garima Jamwal and Uday Sharma of Banyan International School excelled in Roller Speed Skating Championship 2018-19 by winning gold medals in various categories. The championship was organised by Hockey Club Classico in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Roller Skating Association on August 17 and 18, 2018 here at Shiva Roller Skating Institute, Peer-Kho Jammu.
6-8 year girls : Adhira Kanotra D/O Nitin Kanotra won gold in 500 mtr. and silver in 1000 mtr., Sheikh Zainab gold in 1000 mtr. and silver in 500 mtr. and Vidhyanshi Rakwal 2 bronze. Vanshika Bakshi got gold in 1000 meters (loose bearing) race in under-12 years' category and silver in 500 meters. Garima of aforesaid school won gold in 500 and 1000 meters inline competition in under 16 years category. Uday Sharma and Angad Singh of KC International School jointly won gold medal in quad under-12 category in a nail biting final match of 1000 meters race. Besides, Jhanvi of Presentation Convent School, Samukhi of MHAC Nagbani, Lakshya of MHAC Nagbani, Surya Bhasker of Banyan International School, Aarchisha of Banyan International School, Karmanya Singh, Viraj Gandotra and Shivianshi of DPS School Jammu also excelled in various categories by winning gold, silver and bronze medals. The aforesaid skaters are being trained by the Skating Coach Sudesh. He applauded the winners for their outstanding performance and encouraged them to go for more rigorous training to excel in upcoming national events.
