| UN shows Kashmir as separate entity | | Matter raised in Indian parliament | | New Delhi | Mar 4 The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Tuesday demanded that the central government should take appropriate action against the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, (UNAIDS), for putting up an Indian map on its website depicting Jammu and Kashmir as a separate entity. RJD MP Raghunath Jha raised the issue in the Lok Sabha. He showed the house a copy of the map of India posted on the UNAIDS website in which Jammu and Kashmir has been shown as a separate entity. He asked the Indian government to inform the house about action taken on the issue. Jha was supported by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee who said the issue should be taken up with the organisation concerned. The matter was discussed during zero hour. |
