Poonch, Aug 21: Despite investing crores Water Supply Scheme Dhara-Fatehpur is non-functional for more than ten years.
Two stages of the project were functional for about two years, but during little rain in April the pipe line was damaged due to nalah.
Locals informed that, department has no plan to provide water facilities to the people resulting which people are deprived for drops of drinking water. During modern time locals, youth especially school going children are forced to portage water from kilometres, they informed. Many locals accusing PHE department said, JE, AEE, even Executive Engineere have no pain of the public. Although this issue has published in print and electronic media and has been taken to concern department and deputy commission but all in vain. Locals have expressed their anguish and showed their resentments over negligent officials of PHE department and warned that if department failed to provide water facilities on the eve of holly Eid UZ Zhuha they will hit the roads.
They have appealed to governor N N Vohra to take strong and necessary appropriate action against the department. |
