With BJP activist’s killing in Pulwama, one more pro-Indian voice silenced
8/22/2018 11:30:36 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Aug 22:

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activist was abducted and killed by suspected terrorists in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
"Shabir Ahmad Bhat was abducted yesterday. His bullet riddled body was found earlier this morning," the police said.
With the killing of Bhat, one more pro-Indian voice has been silenced by the anti-national elements active in Kashmir Valley.
According to sources, Bhat was also provided with armed guards for protection, however, his security personnel were not accompanying him when he was going to a barber shop for a hair cut after leaving the Pulwama office of the BJP.
Sources further said that he was apparently abducted by suspected terrorists when he was moving towards the barber shop located in the local market.
“His (Bhat) open defiance of the anti-nationals proved fatal for him. He was a true nationalist to the core, always in the forefront of raising pro-Indian voice. He never feared that his actions could land him in trouble,” said sources.
In a statement, the Bharatiya Janta Party’s (BJP’s) Kashmir unit has strongly condemned the killing of Shabir Ahmad Bhat.
"Our Pulwama Assembly Constituency President & IT Social Media Incharge Pulwama Shabir Ahmad Bhat’s killing is not only a loss for the BJP but his brutal murder is a great setback for the entire South Kashmir region,” said BJP’s Kashmir province president Veer Saraf.
A few locals, who were left shocked and stunned after hearing the news about BJP activist’s brutal killing, said that with the demise of Bhat the Pulwama in particular and South Kashmir in general have lost a messiah as he was very helpful especially for the poor masses.
“Bhat was gem of a person. A true gentleman, who has immense care for the general public of South Kashmir particularly those who are underprivileged,” said locals.
