Pleasant weather adds colour to Shivratri celebration
Governor offers Pooja at Ranbireshwar temple

Maha Shivratri was celebrated with traditional fervor and religious gaiety in city of temples with pleasant weather adding more colour to the festive atmosphere prevailing in the winter capital since morning.
City markets decorated with buntings wore festive looks as people in large numbers were seen in the main bazaars purchasing articles and goods.
The Shiv temples located within the min city and on the outskirts were thronged by thousands of devotees who offered prayers and paid obeisance to Lord Shiv.
Pooja -Archana was held amid chanting of hymens at Peer Kho or Har Ki Podi temple Shivala temple, Ranbishwar temple as people started thronging in early in the morning, while the toy sellers and other hawkers attracted the children who were seen moving around in colourful dresses.
The Governor Lt Gen (retd) S K Sinha also offered prayers at Ranbishwar and Har Ki Podi temples.
Similar reports of were received from Kathua, Udhampur, Smaba and Akhnoor where Shoba Yatras were taken out since yesterday. A Grand Sahoba Yatra was also taken in Jammu Yesterday.

Meanwhile, Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd) S. K. Sinha today paid obeisance at the famous Ranbireshwar temple in the heart of city and joined special pooja held in observance of Mahashivratri.
The first lady Mrs. Premini Sinha also accompanied the Governor and offered the pooja.
The Governor and the lady Governor later visited Har-ki-Pouri on the banks of Tawi and joined Arti. They extended Shivratri greetings to the devotees present in both the temples.
Sinha expressed the hope that Mahashivratri will be celebrated in a spirit of harmony and will usher in a new era of peace and goodwill among all sections of the society.
The devotees at Ranbiireshwar temple and Har-ki-Pouri exchanged Shivratri greetings with first couple of the State.
