Twenty-20 cricket: Semis line-up drawn

Finally the four teams have been spotted for the knock-out round of semi-finals to be played tomorrow in the ongoing 2nd Anandrathi Corporate Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament organized by Simula Sports Club at University of Jammu ground, here today.
Teams reaching the last four stages are title contenders, J P World XI, hosts of the event, Simula Sports Club, Press Club XI and Jammu and Kashmir Police XI.
Now, in the semi-finals, to be played tomorrow, J&K Police shall meet J P World XI while Press Club will lock horns against Simula Sports Club.
Earlier, in the last round of quarterfinals league today, JP World XI maintained their unbeaten stint outplaying Press Club XI by eight wickets in the third game. Other teams winning their league matches today were Simula Sports Club and Chamber of Commerce XI.
In the last match of the day, J P World XI registered an eight-wicket victory over Press Club. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Press Club bowled out for 99 runs in 17.4 overs, which, in reply, J P World chased in 17.4 overs for the loss of two wickets.
Karan Dogra was top scorer from Press Club with 22 runs while Pardeep Bali and Amit Baloria contributed 16 and 19 runs respectively. Jarnail Singh clinched three important wickets of Press Club for just 8 runs in four overs. Pranav Mahajan also bowled well and took four wickets for 25 runs. Ajitpal Singh bagged two for three in 1.4 overs.
Later, J P World chased the total, courtesy a brilliant unbeaten knock of 50-ball 56 from Munish Dogra and patient 28 (not out) from Guru Partap. J P World attained the goal with Munish hitting the boundary bringing the total to 103 in the fourth delivery of 18th over. From Press Club, Vijay Dogra clinched both the wickets.
In another quarterfinals league match, Simula Sports Club trounced Hindustan Coca Cola by six wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, Coca Cola XI set a target of 119 runs for six. In reply, Simula Sports Club chased the total in 16 overs with six wickets in hand.
Sudhir carried the Coca Cola innings single handedly contributing unbeaten 68 (off 53 balls, 4x6, 4x4) while S Tikoo added 15 runs and Jassi 10. Sanjay Sharma and Azhar Dagga bagged three and two wickets respectively from Simula Sports.
Batting second, Simula overhauled the Coca Cola total making 120 runs for four in 16 overs. Rohit Mattoo was top scorer with 48 runs while Vikram Aditya contributed 31 and Azhar Dagga 14 (not out). From Coca Cola XI, S Tikoo took two wickets and Sudhir bagged one. Sanjay Sharma was adjudged man of the match.
The third league tie played today was won by Chamber of Commerce XI beating Anandrathi XI by a big margin of 80 runs.
Batting first, Chamber made 142 runs for seven. Vivek Singh and Mohsin Iqbal were top scorers with 36 and 24 runs respectively while Chetan Singh and Atul added 18 each. From Anandrathi XI, Surinder Gupta took three wickets and Suresh bagged one.
In reply, Anandrathi bowled out for 62 in 15.5 overs with Divya Pratap Singh remained top scorer with 19 runs. Inder and Surinder Gupta contributed nine runs each. From Chamber of Commerce, Vivek Singh, Anil and Manik shared two wickets each.
For his all-round performance, Vivek Singh was declared man of the match.
