| Farmers delegation calls on Director Command Area | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 29: A delegation of farmers from Pargwal area today called on Director, Command Area Development S. Jatinder Singh.
The Director had interaction with the farmers who expressed their satisfaction of field channels constructed by the CAD, Jammu on the farmer's field.
The farmers said that the field channels has played a significant role of avoiding loss of water due to percolation & seepage and providing water to the tail end fields. Also farming of vegetables and other crops was mentioned which will surely double the income of the farmers.
The farmers requested for construction of more field channels for covering additional land to be brought under irrigation.
The Director assured them that Department will put in all its efforts to fulfill their demands of providing field channels and the concerned officers like Project Officer & Assistant Soil Conservation Officers would be directed to accomplish the construction of field channels after the harvest season is over. |
