| ‘Black period in J&K not over yet’; lowering of guard dangerous: Chaman | | | Early Times Reporter

Clear cut nationalistic policies coupled with alertness against the designs of anti-India elements and true democratic approach can be only solution to the complex problems in Jammu and Kashmir’, said former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Chaman Lal Gupta while addressing meetings of party workers at Tikri and other places in Udhampur district today.
Asserting that ‘Jammu and Kashmir is irrevocable constitutional parts of India’, Prof Gupta regretted that due to the bungling of the Congress leadership, right from the accession of this state, numerous problems have cropped up and Congress and its allies had always been the mother of all these maladies, he added.
Blaming the Congress party for cheating the nationalists of India by accepting the communal partition of the country, the BJP leader said that granting so-called special status to Jammu and Kashmir has given birth to separatism, fundamentalism and terrorism, which have consumed thousands of innocent human lives and made lakhs of people to live like refugees within their own country.
Observing that for some time past the acts of terror and subversion has come down due to the great efforts of the security forces and the police, Prof Gupta said that the ‘black period is not over yet’. Many innocents are still being targeted by the ultras; he said, and warned ‘lowering of guards under external and internal pressures could prove dangerous’.
Making a dig on Congress and the National Conference, Prof Gupta asked them to explain why Jammu region has not been given due share in the polity as also in other spheres of life. He asked the party activists to educate masses about the negative and discriminative attitude of these parties towards Jammu region and denying even the much promised appointment of Delimitation Commission.
These meetings were also attended by former state general secretary Bhagwat Swaroop and state secretary Pawan Gupta. |
