| 3 arrested, hawala money of over Rs 1 lakh recovered | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 7 Police on Friday unearthed a hawala racket and arrested three revenue officials in Rajouri district, official sources said. Acting on a tip off, police raided a hideout in Kandi village of Bhudal tehsil early on Friday and recovered over Rs one lakh of hawala money to be delivered to a self-styled commander of United Jehad Council (UJC), a conglomeration of militants outfits, they said. Those arrested have been identified as Zulfikhar Ahmed, Mohmmad Qadir and Rehman, they said, adding the trio admitted that the money was to be delivered to the UJC commander. Further interrogation is on, they added. |
