| Sumbal Police seizes illicit timber, 1 arrested | | | Early Times Reporter

Continuing its drive against the menace of timber smuggling, Sumbal Police has recovered ten logs of illicit timber and has arrested one timber smuggler in this regard.
According to SDPO Sumbal, Dy. SP Harmeet Singh, Police on specific information intercepted three timber smugglers of Bazipora Sumbal and recovered ten logs of illegal timber from them. The arrested smuggler has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Bhat, S/O Salam Bhat, resident of Bazipur while two other smugglers Bashir Ahmad Bhat, S/o Ali Bhat and Hassan Bhat, S/O Abli Bhat, residents of Bazipora ,Sumbal are absconding.
A case FIR No: 56/2008 under section 379 RPC, 6 Forest Act has been registered in this regard.
