| Shastri hails release of DA, urges CM to follow the suit | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 8 Hailing the decision of the Union Cabinet with regard to release of 6 per cent dearness allowance to its employees and pensioners, Subash Shastri, President National Mazdoor Conference, has appealed the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to release the same to the state employees and the pensioners at the earliest. Shastri said since the government has already earmarked Rs.200 crore for this purpose in the next year’s budget as such there should be no hitch in releasing the DA installment to the employees. The NMC President has also demanded early revival of LTC, Bonus, grant of disturbed area allowance, enhancement in wages of the daily wagers, release of COLA, apart from declaring Jammu and Srinagar as B-I cities. Expressing the hope that the 6th Pay Commission recommendations would be made public by the end of this month, Shastri said that the Jammu and Kashmir would be first state in the country to implement the recommendations along with the Centre in toto.
