| Daljit condemns police lathi charge of SRTC employees | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 8
President Panthers Trade Union, Daljit Singh, has strongly condemned the brutal police lathi charge on the striking employees of State Road Transport Corporation and their family members, including women and children. The employees on strike for last several days are demanding release of their salaries for the last five months, release of COLA pending since 1999, grant of time bound promotion, besides inquiry into the alleged bungling in the CPF deposits. Describing the excesses on the innocent employees and their arrest as barbaric, unlawful and undemocratic, Singh demanded immediate release of the arrested employees. Singh has urged the state Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary to intervene in the matter and direct the authorities concerned to release the pending salary and COLA to the employees. Singh has also extended full support of the PTU to the striking SRTC employees in their struggle against the indifferent attitude of the government towards them.
