Searches launched in Kishtwar town

Kishtwar, Sept 5: After massive over night search operation in Semna Colony and Bunastan area of Kishtwar town, the Army and police today launched a massive search operation in Kishtwar town after they received an input about the presence militants in heart of Kishtwar town in highly congested Malik Mohalla behind Higher Secondary School Kishtwar.
As per the details available with Early Times, Security forces receives an input about presence of suspected Militants and its Over Ground network in the Kishtwar town following which search operation lead by Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar Nihar Ranjan was launched in the area along with troops of 8 RR who also took part in the operation which was called off after three hour hectic search in this densely populated area after the suspect managed to escape from the spot.
This is the first operation in Malik Mohallah after killing of Shokat Ahmed alias Waris, a top ranked Hizb Commander who was eliminated by the security forces in 2003-04.
The sources said that the security forces intercepted signals of satellite phone in Kishtwar town and also traced a call of the mobile number presently in use by the militant, but no arrest has been made so far after the reports that suspected Militants managed to escape.
After closing the operation in Malik Mohalla, the security forces launched another operation at other area of Kishtwar town following disclosure made by the OGW arrested by the police yesterday.
Meanwhile panic gripped the entire Kishtwar town after the reports of search and cordon operation. Both army and police are tight lipped over the issue and said that it was premature to share any kind of information at this stage about the ongoing development.
