NCP welcomes statement of Governor on Corruption

JAMMU, Sept 6: Veteran Leader and Former minister Thakur Randhir Singh NCP Chief J&K state welcomed the statement of the newly appointed Governor Satyapal Malik who has got a rich socialist background , experienced minister and parliamentarian against the corruption among the bureaucrats of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per statement, he appealed the Governor to also include Former Chief Ministers , Ex Ministers , Ex Legislators present and former Bureaucrats and other public servants to declare their assets most of them are responsible for political pollution in the state particularly from 1975 to date. "I am surprised how my colleagues in politics earlier and later joined politics have become richer beyond their means and their relations. The politics was a social work but most of the people has taken it as a business and it's a tragedy that today 45 % population of the country is living below poverty line only the politician, bureaucrats and corporate which form less than 10% have become richer and richer . I do feel ashamed to be introduced as a Former Minister whereas I solemnly declare that I don't have a house anywhere in this country not even in my village and living in a two bedroom rented flat paying regular rent, "he added.
He also said that Jammu and Kashmir state has been declared by an independent NGO the second most corrupt state in the country and suggested Governor to chalked out programme to eradicate corruption and will take seriously issue of appointing a Lokayukt in the state and requested the newly appointed Governor to utilize his legislative power to appoint Lokayukt and Lokpal and pass a revolutionary bill to eradicate the corruption which has become a cancer.
He suggested besides registering criminal cases against corrupt politicians , corrupt bureaucrats , corrupt Govt servants and people in the corporate sector who have acquired wealth beyond their means must be confisticated , declared as a public property and utilize for the people welfare. R C Bali General Secretary and spokesman of the state NCP commenting on the statement of the NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah on boycotting Municipal and Panchayat elections on the issue of Article 35A said that Dr Farooq Abdullah is well known for letting down people by declaring boycott of elections to local bodies.
