Div Com reviews status of Jammu mega projects
Directs executing agencies to meet timeline

JAMMU, Sept 7: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed progress on mega development projects being executed in Jammu here at a meeting of senior officers.
The Div Com took a detailed review of status of work on construction of multi-tier parking at General Bus Stand, Jammu Rope Way Project, Multi level parking at Panjtirthi, IIT campus building at Jagti Nagrota, IIM campus ,four-laning of Jammu-Akhnoor road, Barrage across River Tawi at Belicharana, Development of Tawi River Front and Jammu AIIMS project.
The concerned officers gave a detailed presentation on the projects and informed about the present status of work.
During the meeting, the officers from JDA apprised Div Com that the foundation work on multi-tier parking at General Bus Stand has been completed and construction work in all four zones is in progress.
While giving status report on IIT campus Jammu, the concerned informed that the construction of boundary wall is almost complete, while construction of transit campus and other works are in progress.
Deputy project Manager Jammu, Rope Way Project informed that the Station Buildings and seven towers from Peerkho to Mahamaya Park have been completed and landscaping, approach road and other allied works are in full swing.
Chief Administrative Officer IIM informed that the work for construction of compound wall complex at IIM campus Nagrota has been allotted and started by the contractor. The concerned also informed that the required forest land has been transferred to the higher education department.
Emphasizing on adherence to quality specification and timely completion of the projects, Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned departments to work in synergy and ensure regular monitoring of the work. He also called for maintaining inter-department coordination which is vital for expediting the pace of development works. The Div Com also had a detailed review of expenditure incurred on each project, so far. He asked to utilize resources as per the requirements besides removing bottlenecks, if any. He laid stress on maintaining financial discipline by utilizing funds in appropriate manner.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, DC Samba Sushma chouhan (through video conference), Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Arvind Kotwal, ,Chief Engineer PHE/ I&FC, Ashok Gandotra, Chief Engineer CPWD Anant Kumar, CAO IIM Jammu M L Sharma, Divisional Manager SFC Jammu M. Rafi Khan, JD Youth Services and Sports, Madan Lal, Deputy Director Planning Tourism, Subash chander, DFO Jammu Sat Paul, besides other senior functionaries of various departments.
