| IGP announces cash award of Rs.50000 to policy party | | | Early Times Rporter

Inspector General of Police Jammu range K. Rajindera Kumar today announced cash award of Rs.50,000 to the police party for apprehending the accused militant responsible for throwing generate in the house of the VDC member at village Handar of Arnas areas on March 6 last.
The arrested militant has been identified as Abdul Rashid son of Abdul Majid Mir or Chalad Arnas who on interrogation has confessed the crime.
During preliminary investigation the arrested militant revealed that he is associated with HM terrorist namely Mushtaq Ahmed code Baber Hizbi district command of HM and was working with him for the last one year. He also told the Police that he was giving the militants all sorts of logistic support and was working as a guide.
He further told the police that he along with above mentioned terrorist conspired and planned to eliminate Mushtaq Ahmed VDC member for his anti-terrorist activities. As per the planning he went to the house of Mushtaq and executed their plan causing huge loss to the SPO and his family members. After commission of crime the said Abdul Rashid ran away towards Chalad and was hiding himself in the jungle to evade arrest but police succeeded in arresting him this morning.
During the search the police recovered one identity card, purse, pocket diary and Chinese grenade pin from the accused militant.
Further interrogation is on and more arrests are likely to be made, the official sources said adding that efforts are on to apprehend the terrorists involved in this gruesome crime.
