Banihal, Aug 26: Police today recovered one unidentified dead body, arms ammunition and two live IED’s from the encounter site which concluded yesterday in Khari area of Banihal. The gun battle that started in Khari continued for more than four days was concluded yesterday after police and Army in its joint operation eliminated one of the militant whose identity was not know. Official sources said that a militant was killed after the four day gunbattle between the security forces and militants was ended in Khari area of Banihal yesterday. They said that besides dead body, a large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the encounter site. A caller, who identified himself as Amir Mir spokesman of Al Mansoorian, owned the responsibility of the attack. The caller told News Agency of Kashmir. “That the attack was carried on Army in Khari area of Banihal by the three caders of almansooran namely Abu Hamzulla, Abu Rizwan and Abu Abdullah”, he said claiming, “One Abu Hamzulla got killed in the gunfight however two of the militants escaped unhurt after third day of the encounter”. He claimed that three army jawans including a special police officer (SPO) were also killed in the four day gunfight. |
