As a protest against the non- serious attitude of the Jammu Municipal Corporation towards their genuine demands, the clerical staff observed Kam Chood hartal paralyzing the working of the corporation.
The employees decided to organize dharna tomorrow in the town hall premises to press the government for acceptance of their demands which are hanging fire since long.
The Federation of Municipal employees and trade union of JMC in a handout claimed that the authorities were given sufficient time for considering their demands but regretted that the authorities have failed to consider these so far forcing the employees to resort to dharna.
The Federation among other things is demanding grant of two and a half days salary to the field employees of the Corporation, besides release of salary of Safaikaramcharis without further delay.
