| Sangarsh activists gheroe Ministers | | Voices concern over government’s failure to appoint SWC Chairperson | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 9 Voicing their grave concern over the government’s failure to appoint Chairperson of the State Women Commission,(SWC), which is headless for the last six years, the activists of Sangarsh, a movement for justice, equality and peace, today reportedly gheroed senior cabinet minister Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma and Minister of State for Social Welfare G M Saroori, at a function organized by the State Women Development Corporation (SWDC) held at University of Jammu. The activists led by Vikrant Sharma and Suresh Kumar lambasted the state government for showing no concern in the appointment of Chairperson of the Commission where more than 1800 cases are pending till date. The activists wanted to know from the ministers about the inordinate delay in the appointment of the Chairperson of the Commission. Finding no positive reply the activists geroed the ministers. However, Sharma is reported to have assured the agitators that the Chairperson for the Commission would be appointed within a month’s time. The Sangarsh in a handout said that the Ministers were accompanied by Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khuda, Managing Director SWDC Naida Soz and Secretary SWC Farid Muneer. The Sangarsh leaders present on the occasion included Ramit Gupta, Akhmat Choudhary, Ajay Kumar, Munish Kumar, Neeraj Sharma and Sourabh Gupta. |
