| Red alert in Kashmir following Hailstorm warning | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 9 Following the warning of hailstorm and strong wind blowing in next 24 hours in the state by Regional Meteorological Department, New Delhi, the Divisional Disaster Management cell of Kashmir has sounded a 'red alert'. As per the weather forecast received from the Meteorological department in the national capital, there is possibility of strong wind blowing in the next 24 hours alongwith rain and hailstorm which is expected to hit the Kashmir valley tonight. According to reports the concerned police officials and other officials including SSP PCR/SP East have been requested not to allow Shikaras to ply in Dal Lake as a precautionary measure to safeguard life and property. Chief Engineer EM&RE Kashmir was requested to ensure that power is switched off immediately in case of toppling over of electrical poles, so as to ensure that there is no danger to life. |
