| Regularized ReT teachers seek service benefits | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 9 The J&K regularized Rahbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum has sought the service benefits at par with regular teachers of Education Department. In a statement issued here on Sunday, leaders of the forum reiterated that they would continue their struggle for service benefits at par with regular teachers. The forum chairman Surinder Choudhary demanded the service inclusion for promotion benefits as well, which is restricted for pensionery benefits only. Choudhary urged upon the government to include the five years of the service as ReT for the promotional benefits also. "It was our long pending demand that five years should be included in the service records but the government, though, has conceded to the demand yet it restricted the demand for pensionery benefits only which is not justified", he said. Vinay Sharma, another leader of forum said five years time is an important period in one's life thus the period must be considered for promotional benefits also. Government should adopt a uniform policy for promotion so that none could feel neglected, he added. However, the members hailed Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for taking decision to regularize ReT after five years of service. They also supported the pending demands of ReT Forum and demanded the extension of SRO-43 to ReT scheme and maternity benefit to female ReT teachers. Among others, Jagdish Singh, Rajinder Singh, Anil Choudhary, Jagdev Singh, Arti Choudhary, Dr Khem Raj Sharma, Darshan Singh also raised the demand. |
