| Young Theatre Festival takes off with Hindi Play ‘Comedy of Terrors’ | | Renowned theatreist Kavi Rattan honoured | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 9 The Rang Pratibha- ‘Young Theatre Festival’ jointly organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi with the Natrang presentation’ Comedy of Terrors’, a Hindi play, was inaugurated by the Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig here today. The play has been directed by a young theatre Director Sanjeev Gupta and written by Dario FO and its Hindi adaptations have been done by Piyush Mishra and Ranjeet Kapur. In his inaugural address the Deputy Chief Minister said that in the last two years the theatre activities in the state has been geared up with a rapid speed and this young Director’s Theatre Festival will provide platform to young drama directors. He also congratulated the Sangeet Natak Akademi and State Cultural Academy for getting youth theatre directors from Kashmir valley and hoped this get together will help bridge the gap amongst the people in general and theatre personalities in particular. On this occasion, the renowned theatreist and former Additional Secretary of the Academy Kavi Rattan was honoured for his contribution in the field of theatre in Jammu and Kashmir. He was presented a shawl and a citation. Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi Secretary Academy was also present on the occasion while Special Secretary of the Academy T R Sharma presented the welcome address. |
