| Fidayeen attack averted, LeT hideout busted | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 10 Police claimed to have averted a possible fidayeen attack at the onset of summer in Srinagar by busting a hideout of LeT outfit to be used as launching pad of the attack in the periphery of city during late hours on Sunday. Police sources said that after receiving frequent inputs about the planning of LeT to execute a fidayeen attack in the summer capital, Srinagar, it further developed the inputs which led to the identification of a house, used as a hideout at Theed, Harwan in the fringes capital city. The cops of police conducted a search operation in the house of Nazir Ahmad Bhat, son Ab. Rehman, resident of New Theed Harwan and busted the hideout built inside the house, police sources said. On search of the said hideout, Stitched Police Uniforms and Pouches to be used for Fidayeen attack, three Sewing Machines Used for stitching uniforms, Police uniform cloth, six hand grenades, seven AK magazines, 200 rounds of AK ammunition, one 2" Mortar, one Thuraya phone and some important coded documents were recovered by Police. |
