| Mattoo attends historic Indo-Afgan meet | | Stresses on holding series of activities between the two nations | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 10 Vice Chancellor, Amitabh Mattoo on Monday attended the first ever meeting of the board of directors of Indo-Afghan Foundation held at New Delhi. The meeting of board of directors of Indo-Afghan Foundation was held today at the residence of Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Afghanistans, Dr Sayed M Raheen and former minister for Culture and tourism. During this historic meeting many significant decisions were taken which included approval of the Bye-Laws of the Indo-Afgan Foundation and holding of major seminar on roots of Sufism –Life and works of Khawaja Mahud-Din Chisti (RA). It was also decided that Seminars and Sufi music concerts would be organized in all the major cities of India and Afghanistan. During the meeting deliberations were also held for the publication of Bibliography of all Pashtu manuscripts in India besides research on Indo-Afgan relations from Ashoka to contemporary times. Muhammad Noor Akhbari, Member Parliament Afghanistan,. Prof. Stnazai Dean Faculty of Law , Kabul University. Mrs Farida Nekzad, editor PAZWAK News Agency and Mr. Abdul Samad, director Political Deptt. Ministry of Foreign Affairs Govt. of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan represented their country on the occasion. From the Indian side, the meeting was attended by Mr Gian Prakesh Indian Ambassador to Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Mr. IP Khosla former Ambassador to Islamic Republic of Afghanistan , Padamshree Prof. Amitabh Mattoo Vice Chancellor , University of Jammu and Mr. PCA Raghwan from ministry of external affairs. Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu Padamshree Prof. Amitabh Mattoo on the occasion stressed on holding of series of activities involving academics researchers, civil Society and Women of the two nations. |
