Look how peoples' money is wasted with impunity

Early Times Report
jAMMU, Sept 13: As they say 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' This is exactly how a picture is reflecting the chaotic and sorry state of affairs in Jammu and Kashmir.
The picture that has gone viral on social media here is of one of the areas of Srinagar wherein a freshly macadamised road is bulldozed for a drainage connection.
Such a picture has not only pricked the balloon of coordination between various departments in the state but also reflected how the tax payers' money is being wasted by the helmsmen with utmost impunity.
The picture in question was taken a day ago at old Srinagar's Babademb area wherein the road was macadamised by the R&B department. However, merely a day after, another department marched over the road with a JCB and destroyed the entire road for the department desired a drainage connection under the mentioned road.
What has invited wrath of the people is the lack of coordination between the departments and how the one department waited for the road to get macadamised so that it could bulldoze it soon after. Such erratic, ambivalent and pathetic scenes couldn't be found anywhere except Jammu and Kashmir.
"Why did they macadamise the road at first when they were planning to dig it for the drainage? This is erratic and merits action against the concerned officials for wasting the money of the tax payers of the state," locals of the area said.
As per the official sources, the department of R&B and its afflicted wings are doing little to make the dream of a developed state a living realty. As per the reports, even the Prime Minister's Rs 80 thousand crore package has been rendered useless by the babus of the department due to their lethargic mode of functioning.
Sources divulged that out of the 80 thousand crore package, an estimated 42,668 crores were kept for R&B projects in the state. Out of the sum, 2700 crores were kept for Bharat Mala project. The projects in the state were proposed to be taken up under Bharat Mala for length of about 105 kms covered under tourist connectivity. However, not much has been done to make the projects a success.
As per the documents, out of the Rs 80 thousand crore package, the government had claimed last year that Rs 1400 crore were proposed for construction of semi ring road in Jammu, Rs 2700 crore for projects proposed to be taken up under Bharat Mala for length of about 105 Kms covered under tourist connectivity, Rs 130 crore for construction of double lane and Batote-Kishtwar-Sinthanpass-Anantnag (NH-IB, now NH-244), Rs 1800 crore for Srinagar-Shopian-Quazigund (2-Lane PS+Major Bridges), Rs 5100 crore for Jammu-Akhnoor-Poonch (2 Lane PS/4 Lane), Rs. 2100 crore for Chennani-Sudhmahadev-Goha including 3.0 km long tunnel (2 Lane PS), Rs. 4153 crore for Pakal Dul project subject to environmental clearance.
