Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 10 Belongs to Basantgar in district Udhampur, Pahalwan Benia of Jammu and Kashmir Police lifted the 10th Shiv Khori Kesari dangal beating Ranbir of Amritsar in Punjab in a tough bout for the title that lasted for 27 minutes at Ransoo in district Reasi. In all, 49 bouts were played in this dangal. The second main bout was won by Qasim Din Billu of J&K Police beating Jagbir of Amritsar. They were given away a cash prize of Rs 1600 and Rs 1500 respectively. Third main bout was won by Kirpal Singh again of J&K Police, who downed Akram of Jammu. The winner of the main bout, pahalwan Benia was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 2100 while runners-up, Ranbir got Rs 2000. As part of the Shiv Khori Mela, the day-long dangal attracted around 10,000 strong gathering of sports lovers, including the visiting devotees at Shiv Khori shrine, said president of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, who presided over the valedictory function. Dangal was organized by Wrestling Association in collaboration with Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board and Ransoo Dangal Committee as also Amar Memorial Trust Katra. Tehsildar (Settlement) Reasi, Rattan Lal Tripathi was chief guest in the dangal while SDPO Reasi, Vijay Choudhary was guest of honour. Among those who helped the organizers in the smooth conduct of the event were Babu Ram Pathania, Capt (Retd) Lehar Singh, Mohd Fareed, Madan Lal, Vijay Singh and Jugal Kishore Sharma (all technical officals), Pawan Kohli, Paul Chand, Ashok Kohli, Jagdish Raj Kohli, Ved Parkash Singh, Mast Ram, Vipan Kohli, Ramesh Chander, Bhagwan Singh, Krishan Lal Sharma, Mohan Lal Sharma, Kasturi Lal, Brahm Saroop and Sansar Chand (all from Ransoo Dangal Committee).
