| SRTC strike called off | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 10 Following assurance by the Minister for Transport Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen that the pending salary and COLA of the State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) employees would be released soon, the SRTC employees Joint Action Committee Union has called off the strike. The announcement was made by the employees Joint Action Committee leaders soon after the successful dialogue between them and the Minister for Transport Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen at a meeting held here representatives of SRTC employees, State Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) and SRTC management chaired by Transport Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, the issues were discussed threadbare. MLA Kulgam Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Secretary Transport S. Dalip Singh, MD SRTC Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Chairman J&K SRTC workers union Mr. Shakeel Ahmad Kuchay, Chairman EJAC Mr. Qayoom, Provincial President EJAC Jammu Mr. Sanjeev Bali, Vice President EJAC Mr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat and officers of Transport department were present in the meeting. The representatives of SRTC employees announced that the striking employees of the Corporation would resume their duties from Tuesday and SRTC bus services on all routes including inter-state would ply normally from tomorrow. |
