| Deputations call on Sayeed | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 11 Deputations from Gurez and Wasoora (Pulwama) called on Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed regarding issues and problems of their respective areas. The deputation from Wasoora Pulwama told PDP Patron that their long pending demand of a Primary Health Centre at Wasoora be fulfilled at the earliest for which the land known as Faroodgah has already been identified by the villagers of area and two more kanals of land adjacent to Faroodgah which belongs to a migrant Pandit family have voluntarily and wholeheartedly donated (in written) for the primary health centre for which people of Wasoora have appreciated the gesture of migrant Pandits. The Pandit family have also demanded that the said land be vacated from the encroachers which was encroached upon by some miscreants during the period of turmoil. The deputation from Gurez headed by PDP zonal president Gurez Nazir Ahmad Bhat demanded construction of a tunnel on Razdan Pass which according to them is the only solution to change the fate of the people of this remotest area of the state as they remain cut-off from the rest of the state and country for six months during winter. They said that Gurez and Tulail are lacking basic facilities like roads, communication, power, employment, medical facilities and education. They demanded promotion of Gurez as a tourist spot, creation of new tehsils at Tulail and Nayabat for Bagtore. The PDP Patron assured the deputations that their demands and issues would be taken up for redressal at the appropriate level. |
