| 2 day cultural programme starts in Leh | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 11 To mark the golden jubilee celebration of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and languages, a two day seminar, poetic symposium and cultural programmes began today in auditorium here today. The chief executive councilor, LAHDC Chering Dorje was the chief guest on the occasion. The executive councilor, Art and culture Tsewang Rigzin, Executive Councillor Health Dorje Motup, former chief executive councilor Rigzin Spalba, councilors of hill council Leh and Kargils, Scholars, Intellectuals, Writers and artists of Leh and Kargil districts participated in the Ist day session. Addressing the Chering Dorje said that the people and Leh and Kargil are sharing a same language and culture, as such the people of both the district should be work collectively and cooperatively to preserve and promote the rich culture and language of Ladakh. He appreciated the scholar, writers and artists of Kargil to participate in this function for sharing their views and visions on the culture which is a unique in the country. He said that such functions would further strengthen the ethics of oneness and integrity of the people of the both the districts. Underling the commitment of LAHDC, Leh in infrastructure development for cultural promotion Dorje said that the present auditorium would soon be developed to the status of state-of-art by spending nearly Rs 40.00 lacs. The executive councilor, art and culture Tswang Rigzin stressed to formulate a concrete strategy to the younger generation towards the relevance of cultural lead a dignified life. He said that LAHDC would take all necessary measures to promote the art and cultural of this region under the guidelines of the vision documents 2025. The executive councilor health Dorje Motup in his address appreciated the academy for bringing out so many books carrying all important and prominent subjects of Ladakgh which ahs greatly helped to distinguish the aged old cultural importance of Ladakh. He stressed for getting recognition to Bodhi language in the 8th schedule of Indian constitution. The additional secretary J&K academy, art, culture and languages Zafar Iqbal said that Ladakh has a very rich and distinct culture which needs to be preserved and promoted at all cost. He said that giving recognition to the Ladakhi language in the 8th schedule of Indian language constitution would help to preserve the identity of Ladakh and its culture. During the 1st session of the programme, renown scholar Tashi Rabgias Abdul Hamid Tanveer, of Kargil and Jamyang Gyalson readout their papers. Earlier, the Editor and head Nawang Tsering Shakpo welcomed the scholar’s artists and highlighted the importance of the day. On this occasion, the chief executive councilor Chering Dorje has felicitated the scholars, poets and arts of Leh and Kargil with shawl and mementoes for their meritorious contribution to art and culture of Ladakh. |
