College organizes felicitate function for winners

JAMMU, Sept 20: In a small function organized in the college to felicitate the winning Kho-Kho Men team, Prof. Kartar Chand Principal of the college congratulated the players of the team and Dr. Balbinder Singh Physical Director of the college for an outstanding victory in the Intercollegiate Kho-Kho (Men) Tournament. He said that the college is achieving a lot in the field of games and sports and also gets the opportunity to organize Intercollege Tournaments. In a high profile final, Govt. Degree College Kathua defeated GDC Samba in a close contest. GDC Kathua won by 8-7. GDC Kathua reached in the finals by defeating GDC Udhampur by 8-5 . In the Quarter final, GDC Kathua defeated GDC Mendhar by 14-3.
Earlier, players of the winning team were given a rousing reception in the college by students and staff of the college. Arjun Kumar, Pushpinder Singh, Nitin Padha, Robin Singh, Ankush Jasrotia, Sanjeev Kumar, Rohit Saini, Deepak Fotra, Sahil Punia , Vishesh Thakur , Aman and Aniket Singh were the members of Kho-Kho team of the college that brought laurels to the institution.
The programme was attended by Dr. Manohar Lal, Prof. Rakesh Singh, Dr. Arun Dev Singh Prof. Manmohan Singh and students of the college. The Programme was organized by Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia, Convener College Sports Board, Dr. Balbinder Singh (Physical Director), and Manish Charak.
