| Court frames charges against IPO, two others in corruption case | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 11 Special Judge, Anticorruption, Jammu Mr. Kartar Singh today framed charges against Bansi Lal Sharma former Industrial Promotion Officer DIC Jammu and JS Ahluwalia and SS Ahluwalia sons of CS Ahluwalia Partner of M/s Surya Joyti Devices, u/s 5(2) against IPO r/w section 218, 120-B and u/s 120-B, 420 and 466 RPC against the private accused. The allegation against IPO Bansi Lal Sharma was that in the year 1995 while he was posted as IPO DIC Jammu entered into a criminal conspiracy with the accused JS Ahluwalia and SS Ahluwalia of M/S Surya Joyti Device Delhi. In the said conspiracy IPO, in misuse of official position, prepared a false report regarding the existence and functioning of the unit and thereby managed by fraudulent and deceitful means, permanent registration from DIC Jammu in favour of Subsidiary Unit namely M/S Surya Joyti Devices private Ltd New-Delhi, which did not qualified for registration under the name and style of the said firm as SSI unit in order to make it entitled to the benefit available to the genuinely registered SSI unit under the Industrial policy of the state and in this way IPO made the bogus firm entitled to get supply order for 650 Solar Domestic Light System from JKEDA. The allegations against private accused were that they committed forgery for the purpose of cheating and obtaining the registration of SSI unit for obtaining the price preference in favour of unit, got a false report prepared from the Industrial Promotion Officer regarding the existence and functioning of a bogus unit and managed the bogus firm entitled to get the supply order from JAKEDA and thereby got illegal benefit of Rs 6.17 lakhs causing loss to the state exchequer.
