He was addressing a day- long convention of the party held at Mankote, which was attended by the party workers in large numbers. Javid Rana said that autonomy was a viable solution to the vexed Kashmir problem but regretted that the then NDA government at the Centre turned down the proposal without having any discussion on it. He urged for maintaining friendly relations with the neighbouring Pakistan and resolution of Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of the people of all the three regions of the State. Referring to the development of area, Rana alleged that work on several schemes approved for the area have not been taken up despite availability of funds adding that he would take up this matter with the Chief Minister shortly and ensure that the work on these schemes is executed on priority. |
