| NSS organizes symposium in University | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 12 National Service Scheme (NSS) University of Jammu today organized an Inter-Collegiate symposium on the ‘Role of Youth in promoting social harmony and national unity’, in which 60 papers were presented. Prof Jasbir Singh Programme Coordinator NSS in his welcome address said Prof Amitabh Mattoo VC has given a direction to the students to lead a successful life where social harmony and national unity are the prime objectives. About the symposium, he said, an attempt has been made to gather information about the thoughts and minds of the youth in the context of social harmony and national unity. He said the NSS is making an attempt to build up a forum where regular discussions and interactions could be held on the social, communal and national issues. Prof N R Sharma, who was the chief guest on the occasion, appealed to the students to deliberate on such issues regularly. GGM Science College was declared the best team wile Vivekanand College of Education Lakahnpur was declared runners up. Ramneek Singh of GGM College won the first individual prize, while the second prize was jointly bagged by Mainashi of Adarsh College Samba and Syed Azhar of GGM College. Sikander Ahmed Naqvi of Jan College of Education Kot Balwal won the third prize.
