| Jugal, Gharu inspect on going roads in Jammu city | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 13 Minister for R&B Jugal Kishore has said that work on Rs. 8.37 crore project of Improvement of Communication System in Jammu city is in full swing while as Rs. 4.77 crore have so far been spent on black topping of 52 km long roads and shingling of 47 km roads. Jugal Kishore along with Minister of State for R&B Ch. Gharu Ram today visited various ongoing road projects in Jammu city and took stock of the execution. During the tour Jugal Kishore said that work on black topping and face lifting of 18 major roads of city would be started soon at a cost of Rs. 5.12 crore. He said that widening of Satwari-Airport road is under execution at a cost of Rs. 8.96 crore and Rs. 1.05 crore have been incurred so far. He said that construction work on drains and lanes in this area would be completed by 13th April i.e Baisakhi festival. Ministers also visited Janipur, Roopnagar, Ghandi Nagar, Shakuntala and Top Sherkhania. They instructed for improvement of the roads of these areas and asked for maintaining and keeping roads neat and clean. They also appealed the people to cooperate with the government and use proper places for dumping garbage instead of throwing on roads. They also instructed the R&B authorities not to allow the PHE and BSNL for laying pipes and cables on road side without prior permission from Administrative Department. Ministers were accompanied by Chief Engineer R&B Jammu Nazir Ahmed and other senior engineers of the department.
