| Shastri appeals to CM to release DA | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 13 President National Mazdoor Conference Subhash Shastri has appealed to the chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to release the pending installment of DA due from January this year at six per cent in favour of the pensioners and employees of the state government as the same has already been released by the central government to their employees and pensioners. Addressing a meeting of NMC activists at Gandhi Nagar here Shastri hoped that the state government would approve the release of DA installment in the next meeting of state cabinet and said that by releasing this installment, the salaried class will have a sigh of relief as the rising prices of essential commodities have already crossed the price index, which has created number of hardships to them. Shastri also demanded regularization of all daily wagers of various government departments. He has also demanded enhancement of the daily wagers from Rs. 70 to Rs. 120 per month, adjusting on vacant posts of seasonal labourers working in irrigation division Akhnoor, release of 58 months wages of workers of Trikuta Hills project of social forestry department, providing pending salary of Mallis cum chowkidars of RDD immediately and deputing causal labourers of floriculture for Gardener’s training. Prominent among those who also addressed the rally included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham Lal Sharma, Madan Lal, A. Malik Purshotam Kumar, Asha Singh, Kasturi Lal, Harbans Lal, Ram Lal, Bodh Raj, Sham Singh and Geeta Devi.
